performance, collaboration with Robin Hewlett and Siobhan Rigg

The performance was developed through a collaborative research/writing process involving Hewlett, Rigg and I. Rather than a script, we referred to this text as a score. In addition to advancing the story through dialogue and developing characters from our research, the performance was an exercise in orchestrating an intricate web of images, sounds, actions and movements.

In the final scene, guides led all three groups to the rooftop of the Smithfield Street Garage. From this elevated perspective, we watched a large projection of the fray below as the characters whom had spent the evening telling us about their Liberty Avenue, came to blows in a movement which was part dance, part street-fight.
