LIBERTY AVE PROJECT, 2004
research, participatory events, collaboration with Robin Hewlett and Siobhan Rigg

We also staged an event in the aptly named galley space, Future Tenant. Free Coffee and Budget Cookies was an installation and performance in a gallery, that shifted the purpose of the gallery for one night to a research site for cultural anthropology. This situation addressed the people who attend art openings in the Cultural District. Gallery-goers completed a survey and engaged in an on-camera interview about their knowledge of Liberty Avenue. We interviewed them about what their impressions were of the street and gave them each a message from the night-time users and asked them to interpret the note.
