the trees, the brook, the air, the work

(work in progress) A multi-channel video installation centered on the conditions of climate research in relation to denial and loss.

Recorded in Hubbard Brook, an experimental forest known for its long-term ecological data and contributions to public policy——the quotidian labor of lab technicians collecting samples and monitoring lab equipment——form the backbone of this piece, a meditation on science, social investments and transformation.

This project extends my ongoing research on the toll of environmental instability on human & ecological resiliency. The project will underline the tensions latent in climate research and the current and future crises they attempt to quantify.

This project began as an Urban Field Station Collaborative Arts Program residency in 2024 hosted through a partnership between the United States Forest Service (USF) and The Nature of Cities.
