Permanent Landscape

Single-channel video 10’42”

Permanent Landscape is an experimental, fragmented essay film, motivated by a desire to compose an alternative to popular narratives around the specter of climate change. Deferring a singular narrative, a collaged voice-over navigates desire, anxiety, concepts of nature, and attempts to imagine a future society over a montage of insects, bodies, real and simulated landscapes.

This film is composed from footage that I shot in the mid-west; found footage sourced from nature simulation videos, and a closely shot observation of pesticide bee colony disruption.
